Holy Shield - My personal favorite, Holy Shield is extremely effective for preventing damage to Zhanna or a chosen Ally. Against Elementals, however, this card pales in comparison to their Eternal Renewal ability. My favorite use is to save 1 or 2 copies for when I start to run out of cards, then watch my opponent struggle against the ensuing parade of Allies. With the ability to recall a few powerful allies or your entire entourage, it has high versatility in terms of strategy. Resurrection - This card really gives Priests some staying power. Currently, it's the best item destruction card due to it's ability to affect all items with no negative side effects ( Smashing Blow doesn't affect ability items, and Shriek of Vengeance destroys a resource). In 1.23 it was my Portal defense, in 1.24 it gained as many uses are there are items, and it's always handy for taking out any pesky ongoing effects like Shard of Power or Valiant Defender. If it did 3 damage at a cost of 3, I think it would better and balanced, considering that Priests can only use it against allies (unlike Mages).ĭestroy Arms - This has always been a useful card for me. The 2 damage is piddly and I find myself using it as a resource most of the time. It has it's uses now, but I find it mostly a waste. Ice Storm - Before 1.25 this card wasn't very popular for it's high cost and mediocre (at best) effect. Its only disadvantage is how critical it is to playing a Priest, so if you are forced to sacrifice one, play one at a bad time, or have one taken away from you (Elementals D: ) it's tragic. Coupled with Mournblade, it can also result in some very high damage. While it costs a hefty 5 resources to cast, it prevents your opponent from keeping too many allies in play. Tidal Wave - Probably the Priest's best defense, Tidal Wave is a lifesaver. I also find that allies equipped with it become big targets. Unfortunately, it only affects one ally and many other Heros have access to group damage buffs which are stronger. Inner Strength - Awesome damage increase for a low cost and it doesn't have a duration. Sometimes though, you can only heal so much, and it only works on damaged allies (it'd be nice if it could remove cards like Crippling Blow and Captured Prey from healthy allies) It can be used to keep your beefier allies alive longer or to revive crippled and damaged allies as well. Healing Touch - Great card to amplify Zhanna 's healing ability, useful for getting rid of DoT mage cards. In lieu of my frustration, I've decided to post what I've learned and to ask for HEEEEEELP~!!! =P In 1.25, it seems like either I or my opponent wins by a landslide. I've tried literally dozens of deck compositions for Zhanna, but I can't find one that's competitive against most other heros. But Priests are my favorite class - with Zhanna Mist as my favorite Hero. Sure, my first deck was Gwenneth (1.23) and I've dabbled in Mages and Warriors. I've been playing Zhanna pretty much 100% since I started Shadow Era.
